Custom InstallationCustom installation is the process by which all of your electronic equipment can be integrated into one coherent system. This may include lighting, heating, audio, video and information technology. It may be that the system becomes a feature of the design of your home, or an invisible function – you decide.
Take home cinema as an example, one remote control that does everything, using a simple often graphical menu. You want to watch a movie on DVD, so press DVD. Pushing one button turns on the TV or projector, lowers the viewing screen, switches the surround sound system on, and starts the DVD playing. In a more complex environment we can even integrate the system to dim your lights and draw the curtains. A complete system that remains simple and user-friendly.
Home CinemaHome cinemas are becoming ever more popular in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and garage conversions. A professionally installed home cinema system not only gives hours of fun for the whole family, but at the touch of a button, it can be made to disappear so that the room can revert to everyday use. Hidden projectors, plasma and LCD screens provide the images. DVD and digital broadcasting deliver pin sharp clarity. Multi (5,6 or 7) channel digital processors provide surround sound, through concealed in-ceiling or in-wall speakers, completing the feeling of being part of the action on the screen.
Multi-room distributionWith a whole house entertainment system, the homeowner can also enjoy television or music, or both, in every room. HD distribution systems carry TV and video signals throughout the house. All the owner needs is a television set in every room to be able to view. As for music, multi-room audio systems provide high fidelity music everywhere, without the clutter or disruption caused by having to accommodate separate hi-fi systems in every room.
A controller and source equipment, such as a CD player and tuner sit out of sight. The controller then distributes the audio and control signals to a specified number of ‘zones’ in the home. Its only one system, but the owner can hear it and control it from any zone. And now with the introduction of Wi-Fi Technology, the installation is that much easier.
Controllers can take the form of wall mounted keypads or wireless colour-screen media controllers, and the owner can select the source he or she wants to listen to, specify where they want to listen to it, turn the volume up/down, switch between radio stations, or change tracks on the CD that’s playing. The owner has complete control over the system without going anywhere near it.
Using a CD multi-changer or the latest hard-drive technology, you can select music from your collection by searching by genre, artist, album, or song title from a remote control unit or wall-mounted touch panel in any room or your home.
So where does the sound come from, there must be speakers and cables everywhere? Naturally there are speakers, but these are discreetly housed in the ceilings or the walls. The cabling, like the speakers are also invisible.
So how do we do it and what is the process?
Consultation:
The process starts with a meeting on site. A systems designer will listen to the client’s requirements, suggesting options and alternatives.
From this we build an accurate description of what function the system has to perform.
The designer will then submit a proposal, usually with a number of different options.
This process may often be repeated several times to find the optimal solution.
First Fix:
Once the proposal has been accepted, we produce a detailed cabling schedule and marked up plans so our qualified Technicians can arrange first fix cable installation along with sockets, speaker plates and any wall chasing that may be required. All your furniture in the local area will be covered with plastic sheeting and your floors will be covered with dust sheets. Any carpets that may need to be lifted will be rolled and stored carefully out of the way until the first fix work is complete.
Our technicians are fully qualified and insured to lift and replace floorboards and carpets for seamless integration. We plaster finish any wall chasings and if you have any paint left over from your last decoration we will even paint match to finish.
Second Fix:
The next stage of the installation is to install all of your component parts; these are any items that are fixed to the floors, walls & ceilings. This usually involves any wall plates, key pads, sensors or brackets and any In-wall / in-ceiling speakers.
Final fit / Programming:
When the install area is decorated and dust-free, we will commission the hardware and programme all of the devices.
Commissioning:Provision will be made to make any final adjustments to the system to ensure you get the very best out of your equipment. Time will be spent with you to ensure you are comfortable with your new Home Cinema system.
After That?The service doesn’t stop there all Bluestream systems and installations are guaranteed (Parts and Labour) for a minimum of one year. You have the option to take out our extended peace of mind warranty which will cover you for parts and labour outside the manufacturers normal warranty period.
